Contest Rules

These rules apply to the WHHD 98.3 Cheer Squad of the Year Contest (“Contest”) conducted by Beasley Media Group, LLC d/b/a WHHD-FM (“Station”). In addition, the General Contest Rules posted at www.hd983.com apply to this Contest. If there is a conflict between the General Contest Rules and the Rules for this Contest, the Rules for this Contest shall control.

1. HOW TO ENTER

The Contest will begin on Monday, August 21, 2023 and end on Monday, October 23, 2023.

To enter online, visit www.hd983.com and follow the links and instructions to enter the Contest and complete and submit the online entry form beginning on August 21, 2023 at 12:01am Eastern Time (“ET”) and ending on October 23, 2023 at 11:59pm ET (“Online Entry Period”). Online entrants are subject to all notices posted online including but not limited to the Station's Privacy Policy.  Limit one (1) entry per cheer squad during the Online Entry Period.  Multiple entrants are not permitted to share the same email address.  Entries submitted may not be acknowledged or returned.  Proof of submission of an entry shall not be deemed proof of receipt by the Contest administrator.

Each entry must include a video of a cheer squad (“Video”). The same cheer squad may not be entered more than one (1) time regardless if the different Videos were submitted.  Entries for a cheer squad that has already entered will be disqualified.  Each Video must be submitted in digital form in 3gp, asf, avi, divx, dv, flv, mkv, mov, mp4, mpg, mpeg, mpeg-ps, ts, mxf, ogg, ogv, or wmv format (maximum file size of 500 MB).   Entrants must fill in all required fields, including name, email, phone number and date of birth in the online entry form. Each Video must not contain copyrighted materials or any other materials that may be restricted, prohibited, or outlawed by any laws, or materials that may otherwise infringe on the rights of a third party. The Video may not invade publicity rights or privacy of any person, living or deceased, or otherwise infringe upon any person’s personal or proprietary rights including but not limited to copyrights or trademarks. The Station shall have the right to disqualify any entrant if it determines that the Video contains copyrighted material or material that infringes on the rights of another; indecent or otherwise offensive material such as violence or drug abuse; or if such Video contains material that is deemed to be unsuitable for a public audience. Video will be posted on each Station’s website at www.hd983.com or and by submitting a Video, entrant (1) certifies that he or she has all rights necessary to use the Video, and (2) grants Station permission to use the Video for Contest and other promotional purposes.  The Station’s determinations with respect to all such matters shall be made in its sole discretion and shall be final. Video that do not comply with these rules will not be eligible for the Contest.

• The person submitting the Video on behalf of the cheer squad is responsible for obtaining written permission from ALL cheer squad members (or from a parent or legal guardian if the squad member is under 18 years of age), consenting to submission of the entry and participation in the Contest. Station may request copies of written permission from entrant at any time.

There will be up to a total of one (1) winning cheer squad selected in the Contest.

2. ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS

This Contest is open to all Station listeners who are 18 years of age or older as of the date of entry into the Contest, who are legal US residents and reside in Columbia, Richmond, Burke, McDuffie, Glascock, Hancock, Jefferson, Jenkins, Taliaferro, Warren, Washington, Wilkes, and Lincoln Counties, GA and Aiken, Allendale, Barnwell, McCormick, and Edgefield Counties, SC, except where prohibited by law. Winners must possess a valid, government-issued ID and show proof of residency to verify eligibility.

3. PRIZES

Up to one (1) prize will be awarded in this Contest. The prize consists of one thousand dollars ($1000) awarded in the form of a check issued in the name of the school or organization of the winning cheer squad. The Approximate Retail Value of the prize is $1000.

No check will be awarded, processed or mailed until winner has claimed the prize at the Station, presented all required documentation, and signed all required releases and tax forms. Checks will then be processed within approximately six (6) to eight (8) weeks following confirmation of eligibility and completion of all requisite releases and IRS forms.

Prizes or prize certificates must be claimed at the office of the Station located at 4051 Jimmie Dyess Pkwy, Augusta, GA 30909, Monday-Friday, during regular business hours. Prize or prize certificate must be claimed within fifteen (15) days of winning. Failure to claim Prize by the specified time will result in forfeiture of the prize. It is the winner’s sole responsibility to claim the Prize or prize certificate within the timeline provided in these Official Rules.

4. SELECTION OF WINNERS

 Up to one (1) winning cheer squad will be selected via a voting period beginning on August 21, 2023 at 10:00am ET and ending on October 23, 2023 at 11:59pm ET (“Voting Period”). Listeners must visit the Contest page at hd983.com where the Station will post the Videos of all eligible submitted cheer squads. Listeners can vote for the cheer squad they would like to win. Limit one (1) vote per person per day.  If Station believes voting has been tampered with or abused, Station may at its sole discretion disregard such votes. The cheer squad with the most votes at the end of the Voting Period will be deemed the winning cheer squad and will be announced on-air, and the Station will notify the entrant of the winning cheer squad by telephone on October 25, 2023 at approximately 10:00am ET. If the voting is tied, the Station will select the winning cheer squad in a random drawing from among the tied cheer squads.

Entrants need not listen to the Station or be present to enter or win.

Decisions of Station management with respect to the Contest are final.

5. CONDITIONS

The Station reserves the right to end any contest or amend these rules upon announcement on air and by publication at hd983.com.

For website contests: By use of the Station’s website and by entering this Contest, entrants agree to the Station’s Terms of Service Agreement and to the use of Personal Information as stated in the Privacy Policy located at hd983.com.

Copies of the written Contest rules and a list of all winners are available during regular business hours at the main studio of the Station, 4051 Jimmie Dyess Pkwy, Augusta, GA 30909, or by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the Station.
