The switch comes after Hooters closed down, where he'd spent over a decade greeting fans. Top Dawg sits on Washington Road's north side, roughly half a mile from Augusta National's gates.
The Washington Road Hooters shut its doors in July. Corporate bankruptcy wiped out more than 30 company-owned spots across the country. Demolition crews knocked down the Washington Road building in November.
Daly's presence at Hooters during Masters week became a must-see for golf fans who made the trip each April. He used the location to meet supporters and sell signed products. People knew where to find him.
Daly captured the 1991 PGA Championship. He also won the 1995 Open Championship. His willingness to spend time with fans has turned him into one of golf's most recognizable names.
Augusta National Golf Club will host the Masters from April 9-12. Fans hoping to meet Daly or purchase his merchandise should head to the new Washington Road spot this spring.
The Hooters bankruptcy hit dozens of restaurants nationwide. Company-owned stores made up just a small part of the chain's total presence, but the Augusta site meant something special to Masters week visitors.
Top Dawg Tavern becomes the new home for Daly's Masters week setup. You can walk there from Augusta National, which makes it easy for tournament-goers to stop by.
