Georgia shut out Alabama in the second half of their first meeting but couldn't overcome a 17-7 halftime deficit. The Bulldogs struggled early. The Crimson Tide scored 17 points in their first four drives.
Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson passed for 276 yards and two touchdowns in the September win. The Crimson Tide converted 13-of-19 third-down attempts against the Bulldogs' defense.
"I feel like we learned just about how their offense likes to attack us," linebacker Raylen Wilson said, according to Touchdown Alabama Magazine. "They have a pretty mobile quarterback. He's a good thrower. I mean, they're a pretty balanced offense."
Kirby Smart is 1-7 against Alabama since becoming Georgia's head coach. The Bulldogs are 0-4 all-time against the Crimson Tide in SEC championship games, including a 27-24 loss in 2023.
"I think after the Bama game, our offense and team has grown up a bunch," Stockton said, according to DawgNation. "And we just been playing pretty good football, and we came closer together and just being able to execute coach Bobo's game plan."
Kickoff for the SEC Championship game is set for 4 p.m. EST on Saturday.
