Casa Program Needs More Volunteers To Help Augusta Foster Children
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) needs volunteers to help kids caught in Augusta’s foster system. The program trains caring advocates who speak up for children during difficult court cases.
Future advocates need to finish 40 hours of training. Virtual or in-person classes happen one to two times per week and last for about six weeks. Volunteers will learn about child protection laws, how courts work, and ways to connect with kids who’ve experienced trauma.
Working alongside lawyers and social workers, volunteers look carefully into each child’s situation. They keep track of required services and put together detailed reports about what they learn.
Careful matching connects advocates with cases where they can help the most. This personal approach helps build meaningful relationships between volunteers and the children who really need them.
The program asks local residents to help however they can. Whether by becoming an advocate or helping in other ways, every contribution helps improve young lives.
