A new game show searching for the “Ultimate Friends Fan” is coming to Max in celebration of the iconic NBC sitcom’s 30th anniversary. “Fast Friends,” a four-part game show, will begin production in October at New York City’s “Friends Experience: The One” activation, Max announced Monday in a news release.

“From racing through Rachel and Monica’s apartment to darting across Joey and Chandler’s bachelor pad and grabbing a coffee at Central Perk, fans will re-live their favorite moments while being put to the test with trivia, puzzles, and games that will keep even the most die-hard FRIENDS fans on their toes,” the release said.

The fastest team in this “fast paced” competition will win the title of “Ultimate Friends Fan.” Filming for “Fast Friends” will take place inside The “Friends” Experience: The One, a two-story, 17,000-square-foot attraction in New York that features 18 nostalgia-filled rooms, activations, and recreated sets.

Dan Sacks, Brigette Theriault, Dan Norris, and Richard Burgio will serve as co-executive producers for the game show, which is being produced by Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in association with Warner Horizon. The show is set to begin production in October, with a release date yet to be announced.

In addition to the game show, Max is commemorating the 30th anniversary of “Friends” with bonus content, a TikTok filter, a new design for the show’s collection page, themed rails featuring handpicked episodes, and other in-app surprises.

Beyond New York, The “Friends” Experience has a long-term presence in London and will soon open a location in Las Vegas. The attraction has traveled to 25 cities across eight countries, with more destinations to come.

“Friends” originally aired on NBC from 1994 to 2004 and starred Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry—who passed away in October 2023 at the age of 54—Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer.

This month marks the 30th anniversary of “Friends,” which premiered on Sept. 22, 1994. “I would imagine it’s kind of what it must feel like when your kid turns 30 and you’re like, ‘How did that happen?’” "Friends" co-creator David Crane said in an interview with TODAY on Sept. 20, alongside co-creator Marta Kauffman and executive producer Kevin Bright.

Jennifer Aniston expressed a similar feeling in June. “It’s so strange to even think that it’s 30 years old because it actually just — I remember the day that it was going to premiere,” she said during Variety’s Actors on Actors series.
