This pumpkin painted like Taylor Swift would be a treat to see on Halloween. Like carving Jack-o’-Lanterns, painting pumpkins is something that’s super fun that the whole family can do for Halloween. While your artistic skills may not be like this professional painter who painted hers to look like Taylor Swift, it all starts with the right way to paint. This includes the right type of paint and correct brushes.
Pumpkin Painting Materials
According to Scraplifters.com, there is a right and wrong way to paint a pumpkin. If you use the wrong type of paint, it could become very flakey and not even make it to the front porch for Halloween. To avoid any kind of painting mishaps, the first thing you should do is seal your pumpkin with acrylic sealer. You can apply the sealer with a spray or brush. My wife and I prefer a spray when it comes to sealing. Next, grab your favorite acrylic paint colors, and some cheap foam brushes, and get ready to prep for painting.
Prepping For Painting
Make sure to paint on a surface you don’t mind getting paint on. If it’s nice enough, we like to paint outside on a plastic paint sheet or an old bed sheet. Next, inspect your pumpkin for any dents or rough spots and give it a wipe-down so you have a clean surface to paint on. Once the surface is clean, apply the sealer to the pumpkin a section at a time. Once you’ve sealed your pumpkin and it dries, you’ll be ready to paint!
Make It Your Own

Brobdingnagian.
Taylor Swift is so many things to so many people. Some call her a singer/songwriter. If you’ve seen any of her concerts you could call her a dancer. Taylor’s Eras Tour, both on stage and in the theaters, continues to break attendance records, so there is no doubt she is also an entertainer. The 30-something phenom has been making waves on the radio, news, stage, box office, and social media for nearly two decades. You could refer to her stardom as well as her personality as:
- Huge
- Galactic
- Herculean
- Cosmic
But I like to refer to Taylor Swift as … get ready to learn a new word … Brobdingnagian.
According to Merriam Webster, Brobdingnag is the town in the novel Gulliver’s Travels whose citizens are “as tall as an ordinary spire steeple.” Therefore, Taylor Swift is, as author Jonathan Swift (coincidence?) describes, Brobdingnagian, or larger than life.
1989
Taylor came into this world on December 13. Any Swifty can tell you that. 13 is her favorite number, which is why she used to wear it inked on her hand in concert. A trait picked up by her fans and still worn by them today.
The day is easy to celebrate. Anyone could be born on December 13th. But the year is what makes Taylor special. On December 13, 1989, the stars aligned to create this Brobdingnagian. And she memorialized it with her fifth studio album titled 1989.
1989 is considered to be Taylor’s first all pop album, according to L’Officiel among other outlets. It was released in 2014 and was the most awarded pop album by any artist in history. Why? Taylor has said that it is her most personal album to date. The track list is full of songs that are real and relatable, dealing with themes of love and heartbreak, friendship, and self-discovery. 1989 earned Taylor her second Album of the Year Grammy (after Fearless in 2008). Its songs include the hits: Shake It Off, Bad Blood and Blank Space.
1989 Taylor’s Version is the next re-release of her albums. It is set to come out October 27, 2023. So, let’s get ready …
