Starting Tuesday, September 12, roads in Downtown Augusta will begin closing for the Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival. The festival will take place September 15-17.

The festival will take place on the 600, 700, 800, and 900 blocks of Broad Street. The Augusta Commons, 7th & Ellis to Broad Street, 8th & Ellis to Broad Street, 9th & Ellis to Broad Street, and Jones & 9th to Broad Street.

These are the upcoming closures for September 12th starting at 11 pm.

  • Albion & Broad St.
  • 8th Street (from Ellis to Broad)
  • 9th Street (next to the Board of Education from Ellis to Broad)
  • Broad Street will close from 7th Street to 10th Street

These are the upcoming closures for September 13th.

  • McCartan from Broad to Jones
  • 9th Street from Broad to Jones
  • The parking well on the 600 block of Broad Street (across from the Ramada hotel

This is a closure for September 15th:

  • One lane (eastbound) of Reynolds will close from 9th to 8th Street

A little more about the festival

The festival hours are Friday 5 pm – 9 pm, Saturday 11 am – 9 pm, Sunday 11 am – 6 pm.

Expected attendance is 50,000 each day.  The festival is one of the South’s most popular Arts Festivals. It features a global food village with international food from 19 countries, five stages of performances, 140 fine artists booths, and a large, interactive family area.
