Kourtney Kardashian Needed Urgent Surgery to Save Unborn Baby

Kourtney Kardashian revealed she underwent life-saving surgery for her and Travis Barker’s unborn son. The Lemme founder took to Instagram Wednesday (September 6) to share a black-and-white photo holding her husband’s hand from the hospital with an IV in her arm. Kourtney, 44, said that she “will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors for saving our baby’s life.” She then thanked her drummer husband for rushing to her side from Blink-182’s tour to be by her side in the hospital and take care of her afterwards. She also thanked her mom, Kris Jenner, for “holding my hand through this.”

Further in her caption, Kourtney said her previous three pregnancies were “really easy,” and she wasn’t prepared for the “fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery.” She went on to say, “I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear. I have a whole new understanding and respect for the mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant. Praise be to God. Walking out of the hospital with my baby boy in my tummy and safe was the truest blessing. [praying hands emoji, white heart emoji]”

Over the weekend, Barker’s band Blink-182 had to pause their tour, citing an “urgent family matter.” He was then spotted leaving an LA hospital on Saturday with Kourtney in tow. She was still pregnant while leaving the facility.

In June, Kourtney revealed her baby bump while attending a Blink-182 concert. The reality star was in the crowd holding a sign that read: “Travis: I’m Pregnant.” In the band’s iconic 1999 “All The Small Things” music video, a fan is holding up the same sign. The couple previously tried IVF and stopped after it gave Kourtney health complications. They decided to go the natural route and are now expecting their first child together.

Kourtney Kardashian Showcases Baby Bump

Ever since Kourtney Kardashian Barker announced her pregnancy with husband Travis Barker, her Instagram page has been flooded with baby bump pictures. While attending a Blink-182 concert in June, Kourtney held up a sign that read: “Travis I’m Pregnant.” In the band’s iconic 1999 “All The Small Things” music video, a fan is holding up the same sign. The legendary drummer saw the sign and ran down to meet his wife to celebrate their announcement. They have previously tried IVF and stopped after it gave Kourtney health complications. Instead, they decided to go the natural route and are now expecting their first child together.

Both Kourtney, 44, and Barker, 47, already have children from their previous relationships: Kourtney shares Mason, 13, Penelope, 11, and Reign, 8, with ex Scott Disick. Travis shares children Alabama, 17, Landon, 19, and stepdaughter Atiana, 24, with ex-wife Shanna Moakler. Since Kourt made her pregnancy reveal in June, it is expected that she will give birth to their first child together sometime between October and December this year.     The next day after her pregnancy announcement, Kourtney shared adorable photos with Travis and her baby bump. The first image was an eye-catcher, with the Blink-182 drummer holding drumsticks, pretending her belly is a drum. With the couple embracing each other in the next few slides, Kourt also included her writing up the “Travis I’m Pregnant” sign and her standing in the crowd holding it up.

  • Sweet Summer

    Less than a week later, Kourtney shared a photo of her pregnant belly in a tiny green bikini. As she gave a little tour of her backyard leading up to the pool, the Poosh founder showed off a colorful and cozy house, with lots of foliage. Also spotted was a ping pong table and an in-ground pool with daughter Penelope splashing about.

  • Gender Reveal

    In a video clip that looks as though it was recorded for a VHS-type feel, the parents-to-be are sitting at Travis’ drum set. The drummer asks if the “pyro guys” are ready, so they can coordinate a drum roll with the gender reveal. While kissing Kourtney, Travis activated the explosion of blue streamers launched into the sky, confirming they are having a little drummer boy.

  • Selfies N Stuff

    Sharing a big dump of photos, Kourtney showed that she is loving her pregnant body. In the very first photo alone, the Kardashians star is glowing as her long black hair is pulled back and she is wearing a strapless black dress that is hugging her body. In the 9th slide, Kourt is wearing a tight white shirt, showing that her pregnant belly looks quite big, just a few weeks since her pregnancy announcement.

  • Aloha

    While vacationing in Hawaii in celebration of daughter Penelope’s 11th birthday, Kourtney shared a photo of herself floating in the crystal clear ocean while showcasing her pregnant belly. In a video clip, she showed P learning how to surf, riding a wave successfully to the shore before bailing. In the final image, Kourtney is laying on her side wearing a leopard-print bikini soaking up the sun in the sand.

  • Cookie Monster Vibes

    Kourtney shows that her edgy style has been carried over to her while pregnant in this electric blue cropped jacket and skirt set. The suede and fur top with extra-long sleeves is paired with a low-rise micro miniskirt, held together by three metal strands on one side. Though it seems Kourtney only wore the outfit at home, she paired it with some chrome stilettos — props to her for the determination!

  • The Greatest Blessing

    While wearing a coral-colored bikini, Kourtney shared in her Instagram caption a sweet tribute to her son. “growing you inside of me, my son, is the greatest blessing, honor and joy.” The reality star seems to be loving her pregnant body, as the whole post is different images of her in the tiny bikini showing off her belly. The last clip shows Kourt lounging on an inflatable pool float.

  • The Fire In Me

    While sharing a reflection of her baby bump, Kourtney’s caption received major backlash on social media. Writing “the ocean calms the fire in me” caused comments to criticize Kardashian about being tone deaf while the fires in Maui, Hawaii, has reached a death toll of nearly 100 and rising, marking it as the deadliest US wildfire in more than 100 years.
