A recently released survey of the "safest" and "least safest" cities and towns in the country finds our very own Aiken, South Carolina on the list.  Unfortunately, it's on the "least safe" list.

The survey was done by Moneygeek.  Experts are questioning the methodology of the survey.  The first thing experts point to is that the information is from FBI data from 2021.  2021 was the first year the FBI fully transitioned to NIBRS (National Incident-Based Reporting System), and because a larger share of agencies were not participating it resulted in lower quality national data.  Some agencies only reported partial data.

Aiken is a beautiful area, whether you live there, or just visit often.
