Nicki Minaj, Maluma, and Myriam Fares are the new voices behind the Fifa World Cup’s anthem this year. The track is titled “Tukoh Taka”  and has made history as the first FIFA World Cup song featuring English, Spanish and Arabic lyrics. The high-energy song is also accompanied by a cinematic music video.

The first song FIFA released this year was “Hayya Hayya (Better Together),” featuring Trinidad Cardona, Davido, and Aisha, which has R&B and reggae influences. The soundtrack for this year’s championship is said to feature multiple songs with international artists “showcasing diverse musical genres that span the world, setting the tone for a truly global celebration,” according to FIFA.

Nicki teased the collaboration for the World Cup on her Instagram story Sunday (Nov. 13). The rapper posted a photo of three pairs of cleats tied to a fence with her name along with artists Maluma and Myriam Fares. Each pair of cleats also shows a number printed on the side. On Nicki’s pair it reads 11, Maluma’s pair has 18 written on it, and on Fares’ pair 22 is printed. The numbers were interpreted as the release date (11/18/22) which was proven to be accurate.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup kicks off on Nov. 20 with host nation Qatar’s tournament opener against Ecuador. One nation will be crowned champion on Dec. 18.
