Hello, Monday!  Not only is today a brand new day, and the fresh start to a new week, but it’s also a brand new month!  There’s a lot happening in August, especially with the kids returning to school.  For some, the return to school is dreaded.  But for others, it’s welcomed joyfully.  Especially for those who like routine! With kids in school, it’s easier for most families to fall back into a “normal” schedule and routine.

Even for those of us without school routines to fall back into, a new week and a new month is an opportunity to set new goals.  Or even just get back on track!  I’ll be honest, last week, I made it to the gym Monday through Thursday.  But I did sleep in a bit on Friday.  My body was exhausted… so I let myself rest.  Did I beat myself up a little bit about it?  Yes, because I’m a perfectionist that holds myself to some crazy, unrealistic standards most days!

But, it’s a new week.  So I’m back to the grind.  I made it to the gym this morning.  Monday is chest day, so I did a mix of push-ups, dumbbell presses, bench presses, etc.  And yes, I did my pull-ups! Today was technically the 7th day of my pull-up challenge.  I did manage to lower the assistance from 25 pounds to 20 pounds!  I’ll do that at least for the week, before dropping more!
