According to a press release, around 100 children from the Augusta area will take part in a fishing derby.  The 2022 Augusta, Georgia Kids Fishing Derby will be held this Saturday, July 23, 2022.  The event kicks off at 9 a.m. at the Mayor's Fishing Pond at 1836 Lock and Dam Road in Augusta.

This fishing derby will include fishing tips, water safety, games, lunch, and more. Sponsors and volunteers for the Kids Fishing Derby include the Office of the Mayor, Augusta Utilities, Augusta Recreation, and Parks Department, Cabela's, Gallop & Associates, and Infrastructure Systems Management.
