They’re planning for growth at Augusta University.  Officials are moving to create the School of Public Health at AU to help Georgia adjust to a rapidly changing healthcare environment.

AU Provost Dr. Neil MacKinnon says the addition makes sense for the school, city and state. Within the new school, students will be equipped with critical-thinking, problem-solving and information-management skills that will improve health care delivery and promote public health across the nation.

Augusta University officials say they will soon launch a search for a founding dean of the new School of Public Health.

Thanks to Mary Liz Nolan of WGAC for the story.
