A high speed chase Tuesday morning in Columbia County ended with a woman’s arrest.

It all started when a Georgia State Patrol Trooper tried to stop a hit-and-run driver on Washington Road. Authorities say Melissa Hall was behind the wheel of a U-Haul truck and failed to pull over.  The chase ensued and ended a short time later when Hall crashed into several vehicles near Washington and Belair Roads.  Three people were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Hall faces several charges including reckless driving, driving under the influence, fleeing/attempting to elude police, driving on the wrong side of the road, and giving a false name, address or birthdate to law enforcement.  Authorities say they found meth in Hall’s possession.
