U.S. News & World Report has compiled a list of the best high schools in the Augusta area.

They rate high schools based on standards in certain areas such as:

  • College Readiness
  • Math and Reading Proficiency/Performance
  • Graduation Rate
  • Student Performance
  • College Curriculum Breadth

The main list includes public, private, charter and magnet schools.  And because this is for the Augusta area, it does include a couple of South Carolina schools as well.

Coming in first place: Davidson Magnet School.  They are ranked #1 in the Augusta area, and third in the state of Georgia.  Nationally, the school is ranked #120. They have a 100% graduation rate and ranked 72.7 on the college readiness scale.

  2. Johnson Magnet, Richmond County
  3. Greenbrier High School, Columbia County
  4. North Augusta High, Aiken County, SC
  5. Lakeside High School, Columbia County
  6. South Aiken High, Aiken County, SC
  7. Richmond County Technical Career Magnet School, Richmond County
  8. Grovetown High School, Columbia County
  9. Evans High School, Columbia County
  10. Fox Creek Charter High, SC Public Charter School District
