Machine Gun Kelly Gets Booed Off Stage, Fights With Audience
Machine Gun Kelly caused quite a stir this past Saturday night (September 25) at the Louder Than Life Festival in Louisville, Kentucky when fans turned on him.
Fans began booing and flipping off the rapper turned rocker, captured on video. The reason(s) as to why the audience booed and flipped him off is mostly because of his genre-swapping seen as a money and success move, not because he loves rock music. You can hear people chanting, “You suck!” and a collective “BOO” at the end of the song.
Another reason in which MGK directly angered the rock community is because he made fun of Slipknot. At a recent concert performance, 31-year-old MGK said he was happy that he wasn’t a 50-year-old wearing a mask, which many interpreted as an insult directed at Slipknot. MGK shaded Slipknot frontman Taylor, claiming he did a “f–king terrible” verse for his Tickets to My Downfall album, so it was removed completely. (Taylor later shared screenshots of a text exchange where he said that he wouldn’t be the right guy for the track.)
At the end of his set, MGK gets near some people who watched his performance and throws a punch at them after being shoved by one guy. His security team is seen pulling him back and away from the crowd of people.
Colson Baker (MGK’s real name) took to Twitter yesterday, trying to clear the air of how “the media lies in their narrative against me all the time but all i saw was 20,000 amazing fans at the festival singing every word and 20 angry ones.”
In the below posted clip, you cannot see or hear anyone flipping him off or booing, as it seems closer to the stage where it is more likely his fans would be.
