POING, GERMANY - APRIL 27: Brown bear cubs play with their mother, Mia, at a wildlife park on April 27, 2007, in Poing, Germany. There is a discussion in Bavaria over reintroducing bears into the wild since roaming brown bear "Bruno" was shot last summer in the Bavarian Alps. Brown bears were originally domestic in Germany, but the species was eradicated about 170 years ago. Brown bear Mia in the Poing wildlife Park is from Swedish origin, her three cubs Molly, Mette and Maja were born December 28, 2006. (Photo by Johannes Simon/Getty Images)

As a new dog owner, when I take Zoe out at night I always have a brief thought that there might be a fox around the corner of my house in the backyard waiting to attack her.  Those are the biggest wild animals in my area.  I’m sure my instincts would kick in and I’d deflect it away from her as much as I could.  However, if I stepped outside to a bear staring me in the face I don’t know how I would react.  Hopefully with as much courage as this teen had when a bear physically picked up her small dog!  She rushed over to Mama bear and SHOVED her off of a retaining wall in her backyard, resulting in the bear dropping the dog and running off.  The teenager sprained her finger while shoving the bear that was the only injury that occurred.  Watch the video below!

Side note, those cubs were adorable.
