This little guy is looking for his fur-ever home!
Get To Know Me:
Hi, I’m Frankie. I’m a big boy trapped in a little dog’s body. I’m a year-and-a-half chi-mix and I weigh around 10 pounds. I have lots of personality, and I love running around and playing. I’m generally charming and just want to be loved.
I’ll always sit for a treat, whether that’s a peanut butter crunchy thing or even an ice cube. I sit; that’s my trick. But even if I’m barking at the mailman (you know, for your protection), when you tell me to sit, I’ll sit and be quiet. I’m also very fond of being picked up and carried around, and I will stand on my hind legs for as long as it takes for you to take the hint.
I’m crate-trained and potty-trained, and I like to sleep in fancy bolster beds inside my crate. After all, that’s where I keep all of my toys. I do an excellent job of telling my humans that it’s time to go outside. I don’t need a chaperone when I do my business, but that’s also why it’s best that I have a fenced-in backyard.
I am not a “morning person,” but if you give me a crunchy treat or a bone to chew while you sip your coffee, we can chill out and wake up to the morning together. In silence. But together. Then we can play!
Speaking of silence, sometimes I just need it. I can get a little overstimulated (like playing for too long, running around too much, or just too much interaction), and I need to recharge my batteries and decompress. So I need a patient family who gets me. I’ve spent a lot of time working on myself lately, but I still occasionally need some help to dial it back down.
Before becoming a foster, things were a little ruff for me. I was abandoned and then hit by a car which broke my back leg in two places. I’m healed up now and run really fast and play hard to make up for that lost time. I wasn’t used to lots of love before, so when I get too much affection or get too excited, I don’t always know what to do with it. So when I turn my head to look away when you try to pet me, I’m not trying to be rude, I’m just not ready and need a few minutes. But my foster family says I’m getting there!
I love dogs my size, but I also like playing with bigger doggos who are 5x my size. It’s best if there’s plenty of space to run around while we play since there is a lot of play energy packed into this little guy! And if no one wants to play right then (it’s OK, they’ll come around), I’m content to entertain myself by tossing around my toys or chewing on something like a bone or my back leg (goblin noises!)
My Perfect Fur-Ever Home:
I do ok with kids, especially older ones who understand that sometimes I need space and recognize my queues. I’ve never met a cat, so I make no promises that I’ll know how to behave, but I probably would.
I truly need a family who will show me as much unconditional love as I show to my people. I promise to be your furever bestie and show how truly loyal I am. Could I be your match? You can fill out DNA’s online application by clicking the link below
