This Is Why I Don’t Do Carnival Rides
First of all… the ride is called the Slingshot, which just screams trouble in my opinion.
I’ll be honest, I’ve never been a big fan on carnival rides or roller coasters. Part of this is due to a fear of heights, and a fear of going too fast. The other part is being a control freak. I don’t like feeling completely out of control.
I know, I’m such a buzz kill! Not the most fun to take to an amusement park. But hey, I’ll be the one to hold your stuff while YOU go on the ride. See, everyone serves a purpose!
Anyway, a group of teens in Florida were stranded 40 feet in the air after the Slingshot malfunctioned. Fire crews were dispatched to Old Town Park in Kissimmee, Florida. The ride was stuck because a cable snapped!
Riders had to be freed with a rescue crane. Thankfully, no one was injured.
Officials at the park say the ride had passed its last inspection. Despite that, this malfunctioning ride and three other slingshot ride in the state of Florida have all been closed down.
Pretty sure there was a Slingshot ride not far from where I stayed in Panama City last time. Those things look TERRIFYING! Have you ever ridden a Slingshot? Or had a scary moment on a ride?

All of these are BIG nopes for me! Is there a ride you wouldn’t ride?
