After two full days of play, we get some more bonus golf on Saturday. As darkness fell, 48 golfers still had holes left in their rounds. That should take about 2.5 hours in the morning. Expect scoring to be fairly low in the morning. Ancer, Smith, Thomas and Johnson are still tied atop the leaderboard at 9-under, 135.

After a flawless first round that featured no bogeys, Tiger Woods has already seen some trouble today. He did get a birdie on the second hole, but bogeys on 3 and 7 have him 1-over on the round, 3-under for the tournament. He probably has one or two holes remaining before darkness ends the day.

He's currently six back of the leaders at -9.

Bryson DeChambeau meanwhile, is 1-over for the tournament, after a wild front nine that had him go: par, birdie, triple bogey, bogey, bogey, birdie, bogey, birdie, par. He's currently tied for 57th, with a projected cut of even par.

With a wild surge to close out the second round, Cameron Smith has shot to a tie atop the leaderboard. From the 13th hole on, Smith went birdie, bogey, eagle, birdie, birdie, birdie. He's now 9-under, and tied with Abraham Ancer, Justin Thomas and Dustin Johnson.

Bryson DeChambeau has made much of his strength and monster drives, but it may have come back to bite him. On the third hole he missed the fairway on a long drive and now nobody can find the ball.

One of the downsides to no patrons, Bryson is learning.

Many of the afternoon groupings are on the course now for what will be partial second rounds. And things are looking much better for those golfers than they might have expected with prime conditions on the course today.

Paul Casey will start his second round just a couple shots off the lead (Abraham Ancer currently leads at 9-under with one to play). That also bodes well for Xander Schaufflele (-5 in Round 1) and Tiger Woods (-4 in Round 1), who didn't lose a substantial amount of ground to the pack. They'll also gain the prime early-morning conditions that Saturday morning will bring for the completion of their second rounds.

Augusta National giveth, and Augusta National taketh away. Amateur John Augenstein is seeing just that with a bogey on 5 and a double bogey on 7. He did manage a birdie on 8 to get back to -3 with one hole to play in his second round. Still a strong showing for a first-timer at Augusta National.

Mexico's Abraham Ancer is making the most of his Masters debut, as he's now tied atop the leaderboard at 8-under with two holes to play.

While not everyone is a big fan of the news we reported on October 27, ESPN's College GameDay pregame college football show will air from the grounds of Augusta National Saturday morning. They are set up on the Par 3 course, which obviously was not used for this year's event.

We finally get a look at the set, and it's far classier than we expected.

While we were catching up on a few other things during the television break, things got a little wild.

Dustin Johnson shot up to be the first golfer double digits under par. He was 10-under through four holes in his second round. But then he wobbled a bit on 14 and 15, with back-to-back bogeys. He's still on top of the leaderboard at 8-under though. Justin Thomas has joined him on top, after four straight birdies on 15, 16, 17 and 18 (his front nine). Sungjae Im is also tied atop the leaderboard, after birdies on three of four holes.

Amateur John Augenstein continued his dream first Masters trip - likely making him believe it's always this easy (sorry kid, it's not) - as he's tied for fifth currently at 6-under. He's three under in his second round.

Golf Channel with some great reporting on how the scoreboard has a "Christmas-y feel with all the red accompanying the traditional green."

The first-round average of 71.41 was the lowest first round average ever at Augusta National. That was with 53 of the 92 golfers shooting under par.

As Will Gray from Golf Channel pointed out, Tiger Woods had an incredibly strong 4-under round that saw him in fourth place when he wrapped up his first round. That round fell right in the middle of the worst of the conditions Thursday. He now sits tied for 10th, and won't hit the course again until this afternoon.

There are a lot of low numbers on the leaderboard as the first rounds are coming to an end at Augusta National. With second rounds already starting to tee off as well, Dylan Frittelli tied Paul Casey with 65s to lead the tournament. Justin Thomas just missed a putt on 18 that left him one back with a 66, where he's joined by Dustin Johnson and Sungjae Im, who have one and two holes remaining in round 1.

On the other end of the spectrum, Bubba Watson (74) and Rory McIlroy (75) had first rounds to forget. The Masters has also seen its first withdraw, as Erik Van Rooyen has pulled out with injury after an opening-round 76.

Vanderbilt University golfer John Augenstein - an amateur in the field - had a nice start to his first Masters, with a 3-under 69 in his first round.

An eagle on the 13th hole was key for Augenstein, who also had birdies on 4, 8 and 9 (to go with bogeys on 5 and 11). He'll be right back on the course again in about 20 minutes to start his second round.

Adam Scott has had a fairly good round going with no mistakes. But then he hit the 15th hole. His second shot on the par-5 hole went in the water. Then after taking a drop, his fourth shot hit the flagstick and bounced back ... into the water again.

He had a double-bogey 7 on the hole. He got one back on 16, and sits 3-under with two holes to play in his first round.

We mentioned Dylan Frittelli earlier, and here he is again making noise. A birdie on the par-3 6th hole has the South African tied atop the leaderboard with Paul Casey, with three holes to play in his first round.

Never something you want to see, Rory McIlroy lost a stroke when he shanked one into the trees on 13. McIlroy did manage to only bogey the hole, however, but now sits 2-over through 13 holes in his first round.

It'll be a long day for the golfers on the course right now, as they'll have to go straight into their second rounds after completing this morning dash. Tee times have been announced for Round 2 (read here), and the first groups are expected to go off at 9:30 a.m. from the 1st and 10th tees.

As we mentioned earlier, scores could go low this morning. There are already a number of golfers making big moves. Notably, Dylan Frittelli in just his second Masters Tournament, has now moved to 6-under through 11 holes of play.

Justin Thomas is 5-under through 12 holes, and Sungjae Im is 5-under through 10 in his Masters debut.

The first round of the Masters Tournament is back underway. There were 44 golfers who couldn't complete play on Thursday as darkness fell quickly. We'll be watching as the greens will likely be much quicker at Augusta National as the day progresses. But with morning dew (feeling much like a normal Spring Masters), several golfers could challenge Paul Casey's 65 from Thursday.
