BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA - JUNE 17: Teyana Taylor attends the Teyana Taylor "The Album" Listening Party on June 17, 2020 in Beverly Hills, California.

Trigger Warning: This video contains footage of police brutality.

On Wednesday (Sept. 2), Teyana Taylor dropped the visual for her new single “Still,” which is an ode to Blacks who have died due to police brutality and racist acts of violence.

Before the video begins, names of the aforementioned, including Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and Tony McCade, among others are listed in white letters on a black background.

The video then begins with a speech by Malcolm X before featuring video footage from police killings and protests that have taken place across the nation in 2020 and previous years.

The video also includes video footage and audio that led up to the killing of George Floyd. The footage from the protest and police killings are interwoven with clips of Teyana Taylor singing her verses while sitting with handcuffs on her wrists, dressed as a police officer, and while holding a violin.

“Still” also features audio from the 911 call that Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend made before she was shot eight times by police after they entered home without a warrant.

“We are STILL emotional. We STILL keep fighting for love, justice. Yet we STILL keep losing our beautiful black lives. Where’s our healing? #STILL official video out now! (Link is in bio) I shot this video a few months ago & its crazy how to this day our cry for love is STILL so relevant today and plans to be for a very long time smh! WE DEMAND CHANGE!!!” Taylor writes of the video on Instagram.

“There wasn’t one day that went by in the editing room that I didn’t shed a tear. Smh This project means so much to me and I’m honored to finally be able to share with you. Thank you to everyone involved.”
