Even The SUN Is In A Lockdown Period… And It’s Not Good
2020 just won’t seem to let up, and now we have to worry about potential freezing weather and famine?!
We’ve all been in lockdown since about February, but now the Sun has seemed to join the trend. Except instead of not being able to get a haircut, the issues at hand could lead to alarmingly low temperatures and other effects to our planet as we know it.
Astronomers explain this lockdown as a period of “solar minimum,” meaning the Sun’s magnetic field has weakened. This period can bring:
- Extra cosmic rays into the solar system
- Health hazards to astronauts and polar air travelers
- Lightning
- Potential brutally cold temperatures
- Crop loss
- Volcanic eruption
- Famine

Experts fear we will enter the worst “sun recession” ever recorded. NASA Scientists are concerned that we may be looking at a repeat of The Dalton Minimum that occurred back in 1790 and lasted until 1830 where temperatures dropped significantly and destroyed the world’s food production.
This year’s Sunspot count points to this being one of the most devastating within the past century. More details here.
