We’re seeing symptom additions as we learn more and more about Covid-19, and the latest includes a good hard look at your feet…

It is important to note that with a virus so new to humans and virologists, it is not uncommon for symptoms to change and even expand.  It is in no way indicative of “falsehoods” like some believe, but simply added knowledge as we navigate this new wide spread virus.

So far the known list of Covid-19 symptoms include but are not limited to:

  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Fever
  • Muscle/body aches
  • Sore throat
  • Chills
  • Loss of taste or smell
  • Gastrointestinal symptoms

Newly added to that list is a term now being called “Covid toes.” As of lately, experts have seen an increase in Covid-related skin reactions localized to the toes.  This symptom will appear as red, inflamed, frostbite-like-rash areas and lesions on and around the toes, most commonly seen in younger individuals.

Although respiratory symptoms are the most widely apparent symptoms, there are still a few outlier reactions being experienced by people that require attention.  “Covid toes” seem to be arising in asymptomatic individuals and should be addressed with a medical professional if experienced.  Be sure to stay properly informed and open to new discoveries as this ever-changing virus continues to be explored.
