The premiere of Season 18 of American Idol got off to a rocky start when auditions came to a halt as a result of a gas leak. “Do you guys smell gas? It’s pretty intense. I have a slight headache from it. Oh, it’s bad. It’s really bad.” Katy Perry says during the footage of the incident, while Luke Bryan adds, “We’re getting heavy propane. This is not a joke. There really is a gas leak.”

In the clip, all three judges plus the contestants are escorted out while firefighters control the situation. At one point in the video, Katy exclaimed, “I’m not feeling good,” and she jokingly fell to the floor and fainted. At the end of the video, the fireman and judges celebrated and danced to Lionel Ritchie’s “All Night Long.” The fireman were given golden tickets at the end.
