Kendrick Lamar’s new rock-influenced album is reportedly finished. The new record will be the rapper’s first solo album since 2017’s DAMN, as High Snobiety reports.

Over the weekend, Billboard columnist and former editorial director Bill Werde, took to Twitter to share some insight regarding Lamar’s album.

According to Werde,  several industry insiders have said that Lamar’s next album is finished and it’s “pulling in more rock sounds.”

Werde came back to Twitter and clarified his previous tweet. “Just because recording had hit a point where folks believe it may be finished — albums go back to the studio all the time after this point, and for a million different reasons,” he wrote.

Don’t get too geeked about Lamar’s new album just yet, in other words.
