Jessie J Calls Out Media Outlet For Misleading Post About Channing Tatum
Jessie J recently went on Instagram to express sorrow about the passing of a friend; she later had to use the platform to call out Popculture for a misleading story about her post.
Over the weekend, the singer posted a photo with a lengthy caption about love, pain, and sadness. In an excerpt, she says, ” YOU ARE LOVED… Don’t let past or current trauma define who you are. You can walk away from it. Take the time to put those puzzle pieces in the right place. Tend to YOU. Be vulnerable. Be there for YOU. Be there for people around you and lift each other up. Break the cycle. Be open. Talk. Be there for yourself. Recognise the patterns of behaviour you have that can cause some of the hurt. Look inwards. Look outwards. Walk away from parts of yourself and people or situations that trigger parts of you that are unhealthy. Be honest. Sending LOVE to anyone who feels alone. We need you around.” She didn’t name any names, but at the end of the post, she added information for the National Suicide Prevention hotline.

Pop Culture reported on the post but hinted that Jessie was talking about her breakup with Channing Tatum. They wrote, “Nothing heals a broken heart better than time, and Jessie J knows alllll about it. After her split from Channing Tatum, the songstress got real about heartbreak and healing in a candid Instagram post.” (Tatum commented on Jessie J’s original post, with a heart emoji).
Jessie J abruptly commented on Pop Culture’s post, writing, “The songstress got REAL about her best friend she lost this time last year. Lying isn’t journalism. They taught you that right?”
Pop Culture apologized for their mistake and altered their caption to reflect the correct information. They wrote, “Jessie J is going through more than one kind of heartbreak. Amid her recent split from Channing Tatum, the singer shared an emotional Instagram post about pain and healing nearly a year after the death of her bodyguard and close friend, Dave.”
