Yesterday, it was announced that Jennifer Lopez was nominated for a Golden Globe for her portrayal as Ramona in the movie Hustlers. Afterward, a fan by the name of Joseph Longo (he calls himself the backup JLo) did his best to make sure everyone around him watched the movie.
Longo tweeted out urging Jet Blue to have passengers on his flight from New York to Los Angeles watch Hustlers. He wrote, “In honor of JLO’s #GoldenGlobes nomination this morning, I WILL make sure everyone watches Hustlers on this flight.” He added, “Hey @Jetblue, there are definitely Oscar voters on this NY to LA flight. Please let me make an announcement!”
Jet Blue saw the tweet, and the pilot on Longo’s flight made an announcement before takeoff. He congratulated Jennifer Lopez on her nomination and reminded passengers that Hustlers was, indeed, and in-flight option. He also hilariously mistook Joseph as being one of Jennifer’s back-up dancers.
Later, Jennifer Lopez got wind of what happened and tweeted to Joseph to thank him for his support. She also offered him a job as her backup dancer.
