After a short but exciting time in the spotlight, Lil Nas X has decided that he will take a little break from the industry.

On Friday (September 27) afternoon, he tweeted that he was going to cancel two festival performance and slow down a little. The rapper wrote, “It’s been a wild last 7 months and I’m ready to take a little time off. Sorry to everyone attending TwitchCon or the Sandbox Music Festival. I will not be there. I love u guys and will make it up to you some way.”

Lil Nas X has had a busy year in the industry, with the help of his popular hit “Old Town Road.” The song spent 19 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, making it the longest reigning number one in history.

Although he’s taking a break, he’s still staying active on social media. He tweeted late last night (September 29) about his desire to work on music with Fiona Apple. He wrote, “Me and Fiona Apple should do something together for my album.”
