Apparently, Rihanna has registered a new song with Broadast Music, Inc. (BMI).
Over the weekend, a Rihanna fan Twitter account tweeted that a new track titled “Private Loving” has been registered to BMI, reports Refinery 29. While the public BMI listing doesn’t specify a registration date, it does list Rihanna, whose given name is Robyn Fenty, as one of the song’s writers.
The purpose of BMI is to collect artists’ license fees and to distribute royalties.
According to the listing that the fan account tweeted, Rihanna wrote the song alongside Jamaican dancehall/reggae artists Demarco.
The rumors began to go viral once both British singer Monique Lawz and Demarco confirmed the news. Both artists are listed as co-writers.
However, a screenshot captures Lawz quoting the original tweet, writing, “I CANNOT BREATH!,” but the tweet is no longer visible on the artist’s account.
Demarco also communicated with an unidentified sender via direct message on Instagram and also shared a screenshot.
Bad Girl RiRi herself hasn’t spoken out regarding the alleged new song, but if it’s on the way it perhaps will be exciting news for fans of the singer who hasn’t released any new music since her album, Anti, three years ago.
