Lady Gaga Criticized for Kissing Married Band Member Onstage

The internet wasn't too happy with Lady Gaga this weekend after the singer kissed one of her trumpet players onstage at her Las Vegas residency. The big problem? The musician happens to be a married man.

Gaga, who has been friends with musician Brian Newman for years, hit the stage to perform with him as part of their usual act. She sang the words "Darling, kiss me" and then went in for an actual kiss. The video was posted to the "Gaga Daily" Twitter account and almost immediately, the backlash began.

"I know they are friends since.... Forever. But Christ's sake, he's married!!! GAGA should behave better," one user wrote in the comments.

"Shes so messy," another wrote.

Others pointed out that Newman's wife was there or noted that it was just for the show purposes. Gaga herself is single, having split from fiance Christian Carino earlier this year. But considering Gaga has been at the center of another love triangle with Bradley Cooper and his now ex-girlfriend Irina Shayk, the video picked up quite a bit of steam.

An insider in Gaga's camp downplayed the incident to Us Weekly, saying: "There is nothing to see here. Gaga is a performer, and it was a playful, harmless part of her act. She and Brian have had an incredible friendship for years and see each other as family.”
