Taylor Swift’s Home Damaged in Stolen Car Chase
Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island property suffered damage when people driving a stolen car crashed into her front gate.
According to Westerly Police, the vehicle was stolen in Connecticut. Police began pursuing the drivers around 1 a.m. and said the drivers sped away several times. Eventually, they crashed into the home’s wall, ricocheted off of it and hit her main gate, causing substantial damages.
The driver was a 19-year-old man, and occupants included two 18-year-olds and a 16-year-old. All were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Swift has been through quite a bit when it comes to her home security. Last month, her convicted stalker broke into her New York City home again. She has been open about her fears for her safety and privacy.
“You get enough stalkers trying to break into your house and you kind of start prepping for bad things,” she said in an essay written for Elle Magazine. “Every day I try to remind myself of the good in the world, the love I’ve witnessed and the faith I have in humanity. We have to live bravely in order to truly feel alive, and that means not being ruled by our greatest fears.”
It is unclear if Swift was at the home at the time.
