Instagram Is About To Expose Millions Of Users
Instagram is finally making moves on fake likes and followers.
It is no secret that both Twitter and Instagram have had several issues with users making their profile look more appealing with fake likes and followers but Instagram is gearing up to halt these actions.
According to Complex, Instagram is preparing to get real strict with third-party apps that illegitimately up your likes or follower count.
A spokesperson for Instagram said, “this type of behavior is bad for the community, and third-party apps that generate inauthentic likes, follows and comments violate our Community Guidelines and Terms of Use.”
IG took to their official blog to make an announcement regarding yesterday’s app update saying, “today’s update is just another step in keeping Instagram a vibrant community where people connect and share in authentic ways. We’ll have more updates in the coming weeks on additional measures we’re taking to tackle inauthentic activity on Instagram.”
They also stated that they will be directly messaging user who have unknowingly shared their login information with any third-party apps to make sure they are aware.
