An investigation is underway after a toddler was found in her family’s above ground pool earlier today.

It is not clear how long the child was in the pool for before being discovered by a sibling.

According to the Augusta Chronicle, medics in Augusta were dispatched to the home located on Union Cemetery Road shortly before noon.

When they arrived, they found Charlotte Jo Dill unresponsive.

The child, who was 20 months old, was transported to a nearby hospital.

Sadly, she passed away a short time later.

Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
