A roller coaster in Daytona, Florida derailed this evening, sending two people to the ground.

According to Fox 35, a call for help came in to the local Fire Department shortly after 8:30 p.m.

When first responders arrived on scene, they worked fast to free people trapped on the ride.

It is believed firefighters rescued 10 people during the ordeal.

Of those 10 people, six were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The extent of their injuries are not known at this time.

However, when first responders arrived, part of the roller coaster was dangling off the tracks. The people inside that car fell roughly 35 feet to the ground below.

Those two individuals were transported to the hospital as trauma patients.

This is a developing story. Please check back to updates.
