According to Page Six, the reality star opted to undergo 10 procedures in 2009.
While taking demerol to control the pain she was experiencing, her husband, Spencer Pratt received a call from her security team describing what had happened.
Her security team told Pratt Heidi's heart stopped and she wasn't going to survive.
Panicked by the call, Pratt rushed to be by Heidi's side.
Now, years later, Montag looks back at the time and realizes that she could have died for electing to have cosmetic surgery. She doesn't recommend others opt to have as much cosmetic surgery as she did.
But, for Montag, that time in her life made her realize what was important and what isn't.
