New Augusta National Chairman Made A Huge Announcement
In an article just released on Masters.com the new Chairman of the Augusta National Golf Club, Fred Ridley, announced the legendary club will play host to a new women’s amateur event.
The final competitive round of The Augusta National Women’s Amateur Championship will be held on the historic course on Saturday, April 6, 2019.
The first rounds will be played at Champions Retreat, in nearby Columbia County.
“Provided she remain an amateur,”according the Masters.com article “an invitation to the next five Augusta National Women’s Amateur Championships, the 2019 U.S. Women’s Open, the 2019 Women’s British Open, and any USGA, R&A and PGA of America amateur championships” is up for grabs.
