When Eminem came out with the song “Lose Yourself,” we don’t think he anticipated that a lyric from that song would follow him for all eternity.

Naturally, on National Spaghetti Day, we must honor the song that was made famous for the movie ‘8 Mile’ starring Eminem.

“There’s vomit on his sweater already, mom’s spaghetti.”

For some reason, years after this song was released, Mom’s Spaghetti became a meme. Parodies of the song, looping the line “Mom’s Spaghetti” in the song for YouTube videos, pictures shared online, the works.

 

Well – Eminem has finally accepted the meme in the last few years, and now he’s playing into it, and capitalizing it.

First, with a commercial for the NBA:

 

And then, with releasing his newest album ‘Revival’, Eminem opened a merch pop up, that brought people lined up by the dozens, all to get a taste of Mom’s Spaghetti.

The fact that Eminem has owned up to the meme makes this all worthwhile and the meme comes full circle.

Whether you like it with meatballs or just sauce, we hope that your National Spaghetti Day doesn’t result in vomiting.
