Mandy Teefey lashed out at the radio industry for overplaying Charlie Puth and Shawn Mendes songs.
Seventeen Magazine saw the Instagram post before it was removed, and published the contents of the post on its website.
The post asked for someone to find the next boy band because she was tired of listening to the same songs on rotation. While she gave a thumbs up to Niall Horan and Harry Styles, she was not having it with Charlie Puth or Shawn Mendes.
Her exact thoughts at the moment she composed the post were that she would drive her car into a wall if she had to hear their music again. Ouch!
Naturally, fans reacted and they were not happy with Gomez's mom.
Fans also took to the comment section of Mandy's Instagram post to call out Selena and her mom. Mandy tried to reason with the unhappy fans, to no avail. She said Selena was not involved in the social media post and that she was not trying to hate on Puth or Mendes, rather she was trying to bring about awareness about the need to have other artists in the rotation.
After receiving so many comments from people who were not happy about her post, Gomez's mom deactivated her Instagram account.
It's no secret that radio stations play the top songs on rotation, much to the delight of fans.
