There are a few celebrities who occupy a significant portion of our daydreams, and this is much more fun when they’re single.
It’s significantly easier to pair your first name with their last name when you know there isn’t an actual Mrs. Clooney or soon-to-be Mrs. Stamos in the picture (we’re SO jealous of their proposal story, by the way). But, unfortunately, these hotties had to go and crush all of our dreams. Nah, we’re happy for them, of course, but it’s just a TEENY bit bittersweet. Here are some of Hollywood’s most famous bachelors who finally ended up tying the knot:
Adam Levine
The Maroon 5 frontman was known to date famous models (like Nina Agdal and Anne Vyalitsina) but he never actually settled down. Long-term relationships were definitely on his mind, though. He talked about wanting to “study” marriage, musing that monogamy “isn’t in our genetic makeup.” It appears that the singer changed his mind though, as Levine ended up tying the knot with Victoria’s Secret model Behati Prinsloo. The two are parents to daughter Dusty Rose, and are expecting another baby.
Matthew McConaughey
The Oscar winner had a wild past, and dated many other celebrities before he met his now-wife in 2007. The pair had two children before eventually getting married in 2012. When asked about why he decided to take this step, McConaughey told GQ, “I had to get to the point where I saw it as more than just the thing to do. I wanted to really want to.”
Harrison Ford
Ford had been married twice before when he met Calista Flockhart at age 60. They got married in 2010, and have kept their relationship relatively private ever since, though he did say, “What surprised me most was that I was still capable of establishing a long-lasting relationship, making a serious commitment. With my children, in my private life or my work, I try to learn from my mistakes and evolve.”
George Clooney
Perhaps the most infamous long-time Hollywood bachelor of them all, Clooney married lawyer Amal Alamuddin. They’re now parents to twins Alexander and Ella. Though Clooney had dated a series of women through the years, many suspected he would never actually settle down, but he and his wife seem perfectly matched.
Though these other Hollywood hunks may have settled down and tied the knot, it’s reassuring to know that it appears we’ll always have Leonardo DiCaprio available to star as the leading man in all of our dreams.
