Fast forward to today, and there's now a Keurig like system for food. And yes, the food comes in a pod.
According to Business Insider, the system, called Tovala, hopes to be your go-to cooking device, potentially eliminating the need to own other cooking appliances, such as a broiler, oven, and toaster.
Now back to the pod.
The pods contain popular food items like chicken, oatmeal, eggs, fish, vegetables and more.
One of the perks of using this system is similar to putting a coffee pod into your Keurig -- there is no meal-prep associated with your food pods. Each pod contains a bar code and once scanned, the appliance will cook your food perfectly.
Here are four reasons we want to try the Tovala:
- We've always wanted to reenact your our scene from Back To The Future 2 -- the part where the itsy bitsy pizza grows into a full-sized pizza while inside the Black & Decker Food Hydrator.
- We did say no meal prep, right?
- Can you imagine how much extra space we will have in our kitchen if you only need one cooking appliance?
- These meals are healthy. Enough said.
