Coachella Thrifting? We're All For It!

Good or bad, you probably have heard about Coachella.

However, did you know that they have a vintage market in the campground of the music festival? Yeah, neither did we.

The Vintage Market is a small store that apparently has some pretty strange gifts. Inside of the market, festival goers can find “a record store, candle makers and high fashion” according to Press Enterprise.

This artist looking to get people to know their names are fans of the market. Small artists like Sydney Jaidar state that “it’s a good way to get your name out, for sure.” Sydney sells Succulents that are planted in beer bottles. Her and her boyfriend reached out to Coachella to become vendors and now sell their creations for $15-$20.

The festival’s markets see their largest sales on Sunday. Since no one wants to purchase items that they will then need to carry around at the music festival, it all makes sense. If you find an item that you like, some vendors will hold it for you until the end of the weekend.

Other businesses you can expect to see in the marketplace are vintage leather and suede articles of clothing. The funniest part is one of their best-selling items are vintage coats. Coachella’s weather typical runs around 100 degrees, so yeah purchasing a coat completely makes sense.

One store that is one of the more popular locations is called American Vintage. They sell repurposed and upgrades vintage goods and also have stores in Los Angeles, Downey, Huntington Beach and Sherman Oaks. According to their Etsy account, some of their items can range as high as $1,200!

The Vintage Market is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Sunday. It is the perfect place to get shelter from the sun and do a little shopping!
