Lobster Pho: Hell Yes or Hell No?

Las Vegas, a city known for being bizarre, has just added another strange, must-try food item.

District One, an Asian fusion restaurant, is well known for their large bowls of pho. Pho, for those who are unaware, is a traditional Vietnamese noodle soup which is primarily made from either chicken or beef.

One pho item on the menu has been catching customer’s attention. The “Live Whole Maine Lobster Pho” takes an entire crustacean and places it into a soup. According to the restaurant’s website, they purchase the lobsters every day from Maine to ensure they are fresh for the dish.

Each lobster is simmered to perfection in the shell and is added to the noodle soup. The dish, to us, looks absolutely hilarious. It looks as though a rogue lobster escaped the aquarium and is determined to take over pho. We mean, who would not want to dominate the pho population? That soup is delicious and if we were to conquer anything in this world, it would definitely be chicken or beef flavored soup.

This is not the only interesting spin the restaurant has given to the traditional platter. Also on the menu is an item called “The Big Bone Soup”. Sounds odd right? Yeah, the name caught us off guard as well. The soup arrives at your table with bone marrow stewed in broth. All of the traditional ingredients are also added.

We take our bone broth very serious!!! #BigBoneSoup #GotBone #BoneBroth #D1KD #D1LV #VegasEats

District One has a plethora of other awesome, yet delightfully strange food items on their menu. By reading the descriptions of each platter, you can tell that the restaurant has carefully and strategically thought out their food selections. Not to mention, everything is reasonably priced.

Nicholas Cage apparently also stops by this location. Maybe he is just trying to find the Declaration of Independence in soup.
